3 Reasons Why You Don't Need To Read My Blog Posts

There is no shortage of other blogs on copywriting and content creating topics on the World Wide Web. And there's no doubt that many of those blogs contain hugely useful and interesting information. You should definitely be reading those blogs.

The blogs on this site are the ones you don't need to be reading. If you are reading this and are interested in my experiences, thoughts and tips about writing chances are you probably belong in one of two groups:

1) You're a fellow copywriter.

2) You're a potential client.

Whether you're the former or the latter (or on the off-chance neither) I encourage you to continue reading so that you will fully understand why you shouldn't continue reading this blog. Sound contradictory and confusing?

Well, that's the perfect segue into the 3 reasons why you don't need to be reading these blog posts.

Reason the first: Business blogs are SEO-oriented

Many, many businesses use corporate blogging as a way to boost their search engine optimisation (SEO). It's an understandable attempt at ensuring that there is a significant amount of relevant and useful content relating to their business online. Hopefully, the complex and ever-changing algorithms will mark their website as a good resource for the search engine user and elevate the link higher up the list of results.

That's why you'll find a ton of blogs about how to write SEO-effective blogs. From long-tailed keywords to meta descriptions, and from keywords to original content... There's a lot that goes into it.

Some of my blogs will be written similarly. Let's not kid ourselves. Milim is my business and this is my blog. Of course, I want as many people as possible to find my my website and my work... and then use my writing services. And one essential marketing channel: SEO-related blogs.

So unless you are an algorithm at Google, or Bing, or another friendly, helpful and dashingly handsome search engine you really don't need to be reading these blog posts. (Does flattery work on algorithms?)

Reason Two: Copywriting and Content Marketing Topics

A lot of the blog content I will be producing will be about copywriting and different methods, tricks and strategies in writing effective marketing content. So what's the problem with that? Nothing at all!

If you're a fellow writer looking to glean some extra tidbits about the industry don't look at me! I'm just a guy with a laptop standing in front of a business that needs writing services. I don't have any trade secrets you can't find on other websites and blogs. You don't NEED to be reading this one!

The Third Reason: Shameless Self-Promotion and Knowledge Boasting

Aside from SEO and my admirable altruistic impulse to share my amazing tips with the world, there's obviously another rather self-aggrandising reason for this blog. This blog will probably serve in some capacity as a tool of embarrassing self-promotion and a desperate attempt at boasting about the copywriting knowledge I have amassed.

If you're a potential client of mine checking out my work: thank you and welcome! I hope you're suitably impressed to get in touch and have me produce some content for you. (I am trying really hard after all.)

But you don't really need to be reading this blog, do you? I have plenty of other content on my site for you to read and use to assess my writing ability. It's pretty obvious that this blog is just me trying to prove to you that I can do what I say I can do. Consider the most obvious cat out of the most transparent bag. Are you welcome to read it? Sure! But do you need to? I think I've made my opinion pretty clear.

That's All Folks

If you're still reading this then you probably don't really care whether I think you need to read this blog or not. Which is very sweet on the one hand and a little like a slap in the face on the other.

So ends the first blog post. Feel free to keep an eye out for more posts from yours truly.

Or don't. There's no need to.
